Aging Neck

Aging Neck
Muscle weakness and decreased bone density are responsible for the development of neck bands. Decreased collagen and elastin production impact the skin’s firmness, making the skin appear loose and wrinkled. Years of sun damage can reveal changes in the skin color with discoloration, increased pigmentation and fine capillaries. Submental fat pockets are very common due to changes in laxity and increased muscle weakness.
Modern technology offers a variety of non surgical options for neck rejuvenation. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Laser and Fractional Laser resurfacing can address and correct discoloration and improve collagen. Radio-Frequency (RF) energy using the Venus technology offers a state-of-the-art modality for improving muscle laxity. Microneedling will improve the collagen production.
Neck bands can benefit from skilled injections of Botox into the platysma muscle in order to make the bands relaxed and less visible. And submental fat can be eliminated with FDA-approved modalities, such as Kybella or CoolSculpting Mini.
Skin care and use of products specially designed to improve the neck and décolleté area are a must to maximize the benefits of any medical neck rejuvenation.
